This 8-week capacity building program is designed to assist local, minority, and women-owned businesses compete in the highly competitive construction industry. Industry experts will instruct participants on the latest practices in the construction industry to improve business operations and the success rate of firms bidding on contracts within the EBDI project area. Each learning charrette will be held on Thursday evenings from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. In order to complete the college, participants must complete all charrettes. The sessions are open to everyone. Women-owned firms are encouraged to apply.
The schedule of learning charrettes is as follows:
October 1 – Opening remarks all sponsors - NAWIC (Management Principles)
October 8 – Hensel Phelps/EBDI (Budget Controls for Small Business)
October 15 – TRF Development Partners (Construction Methods)
October 22 – RAM Contracting Services (Project Cost Management)
October 29 – Clark Construction (Purchasing)
November 5 – Clark Construction (Estimating)
November 12 – Clark Construction (PM Fundamentals)
November 19 – Maryland Capital Enterprise and Centennial Surety Associates, Inc.
